Dell poweredge r720 memory configuration RAID  rates are raised to 1,866MHz, and Dell has implemented its patented Fault Resilient Memory (FRM) feature. Supporting the new Reliable Memory Technology feature of VMware’s vSphere 5.5, this permits a secure memory zone to be made to your supervisor without taking up half the system memory. Intel’s Turbo Boost transitions can increase latency and jitter, but DPAT permits you to fix the amount of active cores and Turbo Boost rate to minimise these effects and provides smoother performance.

The Dell poweredge r720 rack server rental E5-2600 Xeons have dell r720 memory four Hard disk drive  channels per outlet, and the dell r720 dimensions includes the full 24 DIMM sockets onboard. In dual-CPU systems memory poweredge r720 memory configuration can be boosted to 768GB, using RDIMMs or the new LR-DIMM (load-reduced) modules.

Hypervisor redundancy can be found through Dell’s optional dual-SD card control. It had been redesigned to fit to a dedicated slot in the rear, where it automatically retains an onboard backup of the primary boot media.

For storage, the chassis currently has space for eight hot-swap LFF or 16 SFF hard disks — double that of those R710. Dell also provides a version with four conventional SFF bays, and four hotplug PCI Express flash SSDs.

RAID options start with the entry PERC S110 controller, which links to the motherboard’s four-port SATA II connector and supports stripes, mirrors and RAID5 arrays in Windows. dell poweredge r720 drivers the PERC H710P Mini-card, which snaps to a dedicated slot and offers RAID6 for 6Gbits/sec SAS and SATA drives.

I have used a lot of servers in my time, from HP, to custom built ones, and these have been super solid champs!
    What are the pros?
Great hardware, and have had no major problems with it at all.
    What are the cons?
I put into one of my systems 61TB SSD drives from Intel. Because they are not on the “approved” dell list I get a constant error on the drives, but they perform without any issue at all.

A great server. Plenty of expansion, great performance and good value. We typically use them for Hyper-V hosts with internal storage for which they’re superb. The only niggle is that you cannot dynamically expand a RAID10 array using the built-in array controller which is a little annoying (other RAID levels can be expanded).

Make sure if you purchase one that you include iDRAC enterprise, out of band remote management which is second to none. Full bare-metal OS install with no local media all done over the network from a remote location – absolutely superb.
