As a half-height server blade in Dell’s M-Series, up to 16 complete M600’s can fit in the M1000e. The Dell M1000e enclosure supports several versions and generations installed concurrently to accommodate varying program demands with a suitable hardware option. The shared infrastructure of this M1000e enclosure comprises power supplies, fans, I/O modules and backplanes for enhanced power efficiency and decreased operating costs.

The M600 features up to 2 Intel Xeon E5400 merchandise family processors for up to four cores and 12MB cache per CPU. A competent memory footprint supports 8-DIMM memory capacity for a total of up to 64GB running at 667MHz Intel Xeon E5400. Aventis Systems comprises the PERC 6/iR RAID I/O modules controller standard using all our M600 systems. Ethernet and fibre channel mezzanine network adapters allow for network flexibility and scalability for future requirements.

    main issue with these blades is the memory…DDR2. Expensive to deck out. M610 with DDR3 is actually less expensive.

    Great performace. We are using these for our hyper-v cluster and the setup is ideal. loads of IO expasion space and a good fit for the SMB.

    If you buying blades, C7000 or UCS have far better options. These things seem to always be installed with only 2 blades doing nothing.
    Honestly not a fan of blade (vendor lock in).
