The Dell latitude e6420 laptop rental aesthetic yells “space age” while still looking right at home in the very conservative company boardroom. The gunmetal-grey brushed metal aluminium lid, matte chrome sides, and angular shape combine to make the notebook look like some space cruiser. dell latitude e6420 i5 soft-touch, a rubberised deck, is as comfortable as the inside of a corporate limo. Add in a Cathode ray tube, X86, Xeon matte chrome accent onto the bezel, matte chrome hinges, a zinc latch, along with a bold orange stripe around the keyboard, and you have a truly distinctive design.

The Dell latitude e6420 laptop sale dell latitude e6420 i7 8gb ram spill-resistant computer keyboard offers a superb typing experience by blending strong visual feedback using concave keys which hold your fingers plus a comfortable soft-touch palm rest that’s easy on your wrists. We could achieve a rate of 86 words per second with a 1-percent error rate on the Ten Thumbs Typing Test, higher than our average 80 wpm score. The keyboard has an adjustable backlight to help you see it from the dark. The Dell Latitude E6420 Universal Serial Bus, Intel Corporation, X86-64 has a great deal going for it: trendy looks, a great keyboard, epic battery life, along with strong performance.

The E6420 can be obtained with an array of alternatives. It can be configured using a discrete-class graphics, a backlit keyboard to be used in darkly lit areas, a multitouch display, a quad-core i7 CPU, along with a 256GB SSD. All these choices, but bump the price up a lot. Overall, we found that there wasn’t much wrong with the Latitude E6420. If Dell had contained a higher-res screen and brought the price down by a few hundred, it could have gotten five stars.

These are solid performing laptops marred by a poor design. This series marked a detour in Dell’s Latitude line, where the desire to try to compete with Apple on design resulted in several deficiencies in the design. The attempt at adding curves to Dell’s notoriously ugly yet high-performing boxes was ill-considered, with strange and difficult access to ports, such as the network port: a network cable can’t be unplugged from the network jack without closing the lid most of the way. Details like this add up, and squeezing the form factor reduces the options for what parts can fit in the design, leaving Dell vulnerable to suppliers’ quality control, or lack thereof. Still, despite these poor choices, these do seem to keep the Latitude performance mostly intact.

Very reliable workhorse. Easy to use, nice keyboard (for a laptop). A bit on the heavy side but are used on the road by sales guys so not really an issue. My main issue with Dell is all the cruft (trial software) they install.

We use this model at work, they are fine, but they are better with SSDs
The problem is the corporate Windows image, it really sucks

We received about 450 of these in a donation with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB SSDs. The unit is very zippy and responsive and reboot time is easily under 10 seconds. Drivers are easy to come by, and tend to be cross-compatible with previous and same tier models, which makes imaging easier. The power supplies are also nice, as they are also pretty much standard with models going back several generations, which keeps our costs down if we have to get more. The keyboard and touch pad are well laid out, and I don’t end up with phantom mouse presses with the palm of my hand. The weight is about average for a laptop, which isn’t terrible, but may be a bit of a pain for longer term travel. When docked in the optional docking station, you can easily get a nice 4 screen setup going and lots of extra ports to work with legacy devices with.

Overall a solid laptop, with very little to no flaws, depending on the individual user.

We have several of these in the office. Some have been working great for 5+ years. Other have strange errors with batteries, power blocks, RAM, WLAN cards, etc. Overall, not a bad business laptop, but a bit on the heavy side. They are probably a great deal if you can get them for under $350, and some venders will have an SSD installed.

These are some great laptops. They are fairly solid for any administrator to have on their network. The Latitude line for business provides a lot of quality for how much you pay for them. They’re a little more spendy than, say, and Inspiron, but these are business class. I’m rebuilding a E6420 on WDS here pretty quick, and I know I won’t be running into any issues. The Latitude’s that we’ve bought lately (E6420/E6430/E6540) are all very reliable. We’ve had little to no problems except for the hard drives. They are laptops so they get the wear and tear, causing mechanical drives to fail. Not to worry though. We simply install solid state drives so the users get the added benefit of seeing a dramatic speed increase. Great purchase.

This is my work laptop. I have the Core-i7 with 8GB of RAM and a SSD. I love this machine. The only thing that has happened is the bezel on my CD/DVD drive pops off now if I pull open the tray to hard. Awesome laptop as far as performance has been.

This latitude refuses to let us down. It still fits into the role we needed it for and has been reliable over the years.
